I started my professional life as a therapist, working with addicts and their families.  I eventually became the Executive Director of a small non-profit agency, where I was the chief everything officer: finance, human resources, program, and development.  When my daughter was young, I stayed at home and served on the school committee (known in other parts of the country as a school board) and led several committees and initiatives there. 

Throughout my life, I planned events, ranging from small parties to weekend festivals attended by thousands of people. Once my daughter was in school, I decided it was time to find a new direction for my skills. A friend asked for help to organize the addition to her house, and there it was: a focus for the things I had been doing in other parts of my life.

My background as a therapist offers me a broad range of skills that I call on regularly, the most important of which is communication, including speaking, writing, and, most importantly, listening. I learn a lot from my clients and their families, and share that knowledge with others. I really like what I do, both the work and the involvement with people, and my clients recognize and value those qualities.
